District Distributed Common Assessment Codes - Class Access Code vs Universal Access Code [Edcite Schools Feature]

District Distributed Common Assessments are assigned by an Admin or Sub Admin. In order to access one of these assessments, students need to enter an Access Code from their Student Homepage.

Teachers have the option to give their students a Distribution's Class Access Code or Universal Access Code. The difference between the two codes is explained below.

A Class Access Code is a test start code that is specific to a student's class, and only students from that class can access the Distribution using it. You will see a different Class Access Code for each class assigned. Class Access Code(s) can be found on the Common Assessments page. You will notice that by default the "Show Class Code" is checked.

Note: Teachers can also see a Distribution's Class Access Code(s) from their Homepage in the My Classes view. Each class that is assigned the Distribution has a different code. In the example below, Charms has a different Class Access Code than Herbology.

A Universal Access Code is a code that works for all students that have been assigned a District Distributed Common Assessment, regardless of what class they're in. This code can be found on the Common Assessments page. In order to see the Universal Access Code, simply un-check the "Show Class Code" box.

Note: When your Admin or Sub Admin sets up a Distribution, they can choose to not require an Access Code, which would have the District Distributed Common Assessment appear directly on the Student Homepage.

Note: It is recommended that you use the Class Access Code if students have been assigned the same Distribution in multiple classes and you are using Real-time Connect. To learn more about Real-time Connect, click here.
