How to Digitally "Hand Back" An Assessment

While you may want to hide answer details from students during the testing window, it can be helpful to change settings when it's time to review and track progress with students, so that students can see their results in Edcite. You will need to ensure that students can now see answer details and also that there is no required access code- the directions below will walk you through both!

If this is a district distribution, you can follow steps 1-4 to override the assignment settings. If there are no distribution settings, and you prefer to edit the assignment settings, skip to Edit Assignment Settings.

Edit Distribution Settings [Edcite Schools Feature]:

1. Go to your District Distributions page and open the distribution you would like to "hand back" by clicking on the distribution name in green.

2.  Select the orange Settings button.

 3.  Select Student Report from the tabs on the left of the pop up.

4.  Ensure that Hide Scores and Answer Details, Hide answer Details, Hide Correct Answers, and Hide Scores are NOT selected.
Note: You can override assignment settings my selecting any of the boxes and saving changes, then opening the settings again and de-selecting Hide Scores and Answer Details, Hide answer Details, Hide Correct Answers, and Hide Scores

5. Still in Distribution Settings, toggle to Access Options on the left of the screen. Ensure that Do not Require Access Code IS selected.
Students can now see the exam under "Submitted" on their homepage, and they will be able to see their scores for each question.

Edit the Assignment Settings:

1.  Navigate to the assignment editor and select the settings gear near the top right of the page. From the dropdown, select Open all Settings.

2. Select Student Report from the tabs on the left of the pop up, and then ensure that Hide Scores and Answer Details, Hide answer Details, Hide Correct Answers, and Hide Scores are NOT selected.

Students should now be able to see their assessments on their home page as well as how they answered, the correct answers, and their scores!
