Common assessments allow other team members to use the same assessment so that data for all students is compiled into one set of reports. On Edcite, there are two pathways for scheduling common assessments: Teacher Assigned and District Distributed. This help document will walk through how to set up pre and post Teacher Assigned Common Assessments.

Because common assessments by design aggregate student performance, in order to successfully set up a pre and post test, you need to designate each test as its own so you don't combine performance and instead get distinct snapshots of performance. Below are step by step directions for setting up pre and post Teacher Assigned Common Assessments.

1. Create your pre test.
2. Make a copy of that assessment, rename it as "post test", and save it.
3. Lock both assessments.

Once those steps are completed, your assessments are ready to be delivered by your team. Click here for information on scheduling a Teacher Assigned Common Assessment.

Note: a white lock next to a common assessment indicates that it is the original version of the common assessment. A gray lock indicates it is a copied version of a common assessment. No changes can be made to a copied common assessment and any changes made to the original will flow through to any copies made.

Note: If you have already given the pre test or if it is already locked, you can simply unlock the test and then follow the 3 steps listed above.
