Note: The Drag and Drop Text question type is versatile and starts with a blank canvas. It is made up of two sections:
1 - the Answer Area with the fixed information that students can't move, and
2 - the Answer Bank, containing the Answer Choice(s) students drag and drop into the Answer Box(es).
In the Answer Area, you will see a broken-lined box called an Answer Label that will contain any image(s) or text you choose to include. To edit an Answer Label, click on the Blue Pencil inside the lined box. To delete an Answer Label, click on the Red X. You will also see two Answer Boxes by default. This is where students will drag Answer Choices. To delete an Answer Box, click on the Red X inside it.

5. To add an Answer Label, set Answer Choices, and edit the settings of your Drag and Drop Text question, click on the Settings Gear.
  1. Answer Labels: To add or edit an Answer Label, click on the Blue Pencil. You can add another label to your question by clicking on the +Add Label button and remove a label by clicking on the Red X.

  2. Answer Choices: Click on the Correct Answer(s) box(es) to set the Answer Choice(s) that will be dragged and dropped by students (Note: the letter(s) to the left of the Answer Box(es) correspond(s) to the letter(s) in the Answer Area). You can also choose to add alternative correct answers, add new answers, or add distractor(s) for students.

  3. Note: You can adjust the width and height of Answer Boxes and Answer Labels in the main Answer Area by clicking and dragging the diagonal arrow in the bottom right-hand corner of a box. You can click on the outline of a box to move it around the Answer Area.
  4. Student view: You can choose to shuffle answer choices for students and decide where you want the Answer Bank to be positioned (to the left or at the top of the Answer Area). You can also upload an optional background image.

  5. Scoring: In terms of scoring, by default the question will be auto graded. If desired, you can choose to make your question teacher graded. You can enable All or None scoring. With All or None scoring, students will only get a correct answer if they get all answers correct - otherwise the score is zero. When Group Scoring is turned on, you can organize different answers into groups, with each answer in a group being interchangeable. When you are happy with your settings, click Done.
