Schedule a Common Assessment from Assignment Library

Schedule a Teacher Assigned Common Assessment from Assignment Library (Teacher) [Edcite Schools Feature]

This feature is available as part of our premium platform, Edcite Schools. To learn more about Edcite Schools, click here.

This guide assumes you have access to an Edcite Schools teacher account with permission to access Edcite Schools assignment folders.  If you need help with folders, you can email your administrator or schools@edcite.com with the subject “Folder Setup” for help.

1. Login to your teacher account. In the top menu, choose Assignments → Library (or just click Assignments).

 2.
On the Assignment Library page, you can either Search or Browse Standards (details on how to do this are linked).  Click … → Move to Folder to copy the assessment for your district. To test out an assessment, you can click Preview for a flat view. From Preview, you can click Student View to view the full student experience. If it looks good, you can close the new tab and use ... --> Move to Folder.

3. Move to Folder will open a popover where you can select School Folders, then click on the Folder you want to save the assignment to. If you do not see any School Folders, see the links at the top of the doc around folder setup and user management or contact schools@edcite.com. After you click on the folder name, you will see a confirmation. Click OK.

4. Go to Assignments --> My Assignments. Select the folder you shared them to.
Click the Pencil icon next to the assignment(s) you want to lock as Common Assessments. This will open the screen below. Click the Gear --> Basic Settings --> Mark as Common Assessment. You should see confirmation that it is now locked. Save the assignment. It is now ready for you and colleagues to give together!

5. Now that the assessment is 1) locked and 2) shared into a folder, you and your colleagues can schedule the assessment following steps A - E.
A. From your top navigation bar, click Common Assessments.

B. Select the Teacher Assigned tab. You can either browse all assignments using the search filter or use the Grade and Subject folders.

C. Find the assignment and click the Assign button. If you don't see the assignment, it is either not locked or not shared to a folder you have access to.

D. The Scheduler Popover will open.  You can assign by class or by student and set a start time when the assignment will be available to students. If you are using Google Classroom or Canvas, you can assign to those classes on this popover.

E. Click Assign to schedule the assignment. You will be brought to a Manage page where you can modify settings. For more details on assignment settings, click here
