Information on Freeform Tags
Freeform Tags are user-created tags that can be added to any question and can be analyzed on many of Edcite's single assessment reports. Teams might use free form tags to identify and run reports for questions that, for example,:
- Are all the same genre
- Are all in the same cluster
- Are all about the same passage, or
- Any other grouping you'd like to see on questions!
This allows for an added layer of data analysis, beyond standards and DOK!
1. In the question editor, select Tags near the top left of the editor
2. In the box under Freeform Tags, type in the Freeform Tag you would like to use.
- Note: Be careful to not add any extra spaces and/or typos, because this will create a new freeform tag and not link that question to other questions with the "same" freeform tag. Additionally, we recommend not using commas in a Free Form tag as it will split a tag and result in separate tags showing in the Summary Report.
Now, when running the data, you can select Show Free Form Tags, and you will see aggregate data for all questions with the same Freeform Tag.
Below is an example of a teacher using Freeform Tags to analyze data in the Performance Band report by (A) passage, and (B) genre (in addition to standards)!
Note: when searching the Question Bank or Assignments Library, "Standard(s)" refers to the state standards added from the tag editor and "Tag(s)" refers to the Free Form Tags added to the individual questions from the tag editor.
