Randomized Numeric Response

Create the Question

1. From the navigation bar on the left of your screen, select Questions, Create Question.

2. To open this kind of question, follow these three steps: 
  1. On the tabs to the right of "Filter By" select the Student Action tab.
  2. To the right of "Categories" select the Math Response tab. 
  3. Select the Randomized Numeric Response question and then click the orange Create Question button to the right of the question sample. 


3. Name your question in the space provided at the top left of the question and click the green Save button at the top right.


Edit the Question

4. Use the options below to edit the question. 
  1. Enter stimulus and optional stimulus instructions. Click on the Blue Pencil button to open your Rich Text Editor. You can add text, audio, video, or images.  Click the Done button upon completion. You can name this tab or you can add a new tab with an alternative stimulus by clicking the (+) button.
  2.  Gear Button: add Allowed Answers, the Margin of Error, and the Scoring percentage in the space provided.  To add additional answers, click the + Add Allowed Answer button. To delete and answer, click the red (x) button. Check the box to Allow numeric expression for the answer. (Second image below)
  3. Add allowed answers
  4. Box next to "Points:" Change the point value for the question
  5. Blue Pencil: Opens rich text editor for the prompt
